Your child will experience a delightful variety of materials and techniques in a positive, fun environment where individuality and creative exploration are encouraged.
What's special about your programs?
A number of things make our programs unique. Here are a few:
At our Creativity Workshops, each child receives a special gift their very own Inspiration Box, decorated and filled especially for them by a seasoned artist from across the United States and Canada. Each is unique. Inside are fun materials, supplies and inspiration carefully selected to spark the child's imagination and start them on their creative journey. Many of these items may be kept and used for a lifetime.
Once a year, your child may participate in our Art Show, to experience the excitement of exhibiting his or her own work at a real art gallery in Southampton.
The environment we've created is one of cooperation, teamwork and appreciation for what each little artist has to offer. We have designed a number of art projects where children may practice these beneficial skills.
How many children are in each session?
Groups are kept small for personal attention, to consider each child's individual needs and provide age appropriate activities. A typical session would involve 3 - 5 children.
How often should my child attend?
That's entirely up to you. Some children attend both Saturday and Sunday and others come one hour per week. On our sign-up page, simply check which day(s) of the week you'd like your child to attend.
We have something else scheduled on one of the class dates
No problem! There's plenty of flexibility here.
Please inform us in advance of any date(s) your child will not be in attendance. Children are welcome to attend on another day to substitute for a missed session. Please note that we are unable to make substitutions or refunds for missed classes if we were not informed at least 24 hours in advance.
What if I'll be late picking up my child?
We understand that occasionally something comes up and you may need to be late for pick-up. If this happens, please just give us a call at 631/728-2805 as soon as possible and let us know when to expect you. If you'll be more than ten minutes late, $10 per hour will be added for child care. Child care is available after all classes to ensure that your little one is always in good hands.
I'm unable to drop off/pick up at the times given
Carpools may be available please ask and we'd be glad to put you in touch with a parent in your area.
Do you provide food/beverages?
Drinks are provided and water is always available throughout the day. Children are welcome to bring a bag lunch or snack.
Is your studio air conditioned during summer months?
Yes. We keep our studio at a comfortable temperature for indoor activities.

What is Colleen's background?
Colleen Raphael McGunnigle earned her BA in Fine Art from Providence College before studying at Parson's School of Design in New York City. Her work has won awards such as Best Illustrated Ad Campaign [Associated Press] and has been published in books including Successful Direct Mail Design [PIE Books]. Colleen's work has exhibited at The East End Arts Council as well as galleries in Southampton, Quogue, Providence and private collections.
Since opening her illustration and graphic design studio in 1989, Colleen's work has appeared in numerous upscale magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Town & Country and GQ and she continues working in the field of illustration, identity, collateral and web design with her graphic design company Artesian.
Drawing on her training and real-world experience, Colleen began teaching independent workshops to help students prepare for a career in graphic arts, cultivating essential skills which they hadn't learned in the classroom. A heartfelt love of children inspired her to develop the Young Artists Club, encouraging kids to discover their own unique gifts and abilities.
